(Concept mockup)
My artwork titled ‘Still Here: Songs for Species’ was selected by Penrith City Council as a part of their Creative Hoardings program, which effectively turn construction sites into public art galleries.
This site-specific work was created as is a tribute to threatened species native to Dharug Country — including plants, bats, birds and invertebrates that often exist beyond public attention.
Through illustration, typography and language, the work reflects on fragile ecosystems, visibility and our shared responsibility to care for Country.
The inclusion of meaningful Dharug language phrases in the work was a great honour made possible by the Bayala Aboriginal Corporation offering their time and insights.
